One Person at a Time

Americans For Philanthropy was founded by Alan Hyman and the Advisory Group in 2004. The goal is simple: educate and empower people who want to join in the battle to eradicate extreme poverty.

The forum they developed is to host dinners where key speakers from the trenches of the war on poverty tell us about their cause and/or organization. And the effect has been powerful, with each person leaving the dinner a more-aware being with a sense of obligation to support the cause.

There are many people in the trenches of this battle, but they still need financial support to continue and succeed. And that is where AFP aims to contribute. We can’t all travel to Mali to help villagers with their water supply, but we can support those who do.

Everyone involved with AFP is a volunteer. So all the money donated through AFP makes its way to the people in need.

One person at a time … we’re trying to do our part in eradicating extreme poverty.
